Dota 2 Champions League Season 7 to be hosted by Epic Esports Events

The season will feature a $50,000 prize pool.

It has been revealed that the Dota 2 Champions League Season 7 will officially be hosted and run by Epic Esports Events and its betting partner, Winline, all in partnership with the Russian Esports Federation. Set to start on January 24 and run until February 17, the tournament will boast a $50,000 prize pool.

Revealed in a blog post, we're told that there will be 14 competitors, including Virtus.pro, Team Empire, and Gambit Esports, and that it will use a format with a group stage where the best teams will advance to a double elimination bracket playoffs stage.

In terms of how the $50,000 prize pool will be split, we're told that $20,000 will go to the tournament winner, $10,000 to second place, $7,000 to third place, with the remaining $13,000 split between the next nine highest placing teams.

As for how you will be able to watch the tournament, the Champions League will be broadcast by Beyond The Summit in English, and by the RuHub Studio in Russian.
